what does "Preparation For Notification" mean? does this mean they have decided on my claims? I mean I already know they are going to decline many of them due to them losing my medical reacords and ill have to battle that one. But my PTSD, and others should not be effecte by that.... uh oh I hope this is good news!

It could be you are close but sometimes someone thinks they need more information and they pull it back.

loser05,
By your posting/question......yes, "Prep-for-notification" means that the VA has decided your claim(s) and preparing to notify you (and your POA if any).
As far as being "good-news" (?).
You'll have to wait and read your VA-Award-Letter and Rating-Decission that the VARO will send you in BBE by mail.

@richard50 what is a BBE ? sorry I'm still new to all of this! I say good news as in this mean I will be getting some answers. I understand the news could be bad and I could get not military related and a lot of 0%'s. The 1st step is getting a rating the next step will be fighting the ratings they give me unless I feel the ratings they give me are accurate.

The BBE stands for Big Brown (could be white) Envelope. It's what the award letter comes in. Good luck

BBE is short for Big Brown Envelope, but it could be a white envelope too.
That is the way the VA tells you what they decided, it is called a Decision Letter.

Good Luck! Preparation for notification means a decision has been made.

yay I'm so excited! I'm hoping for a minimum for 40% and a bet of 60%, will be really up if its less than that but have gain great knowledge from everyone here on what the next steps are if it is not what i think is a fair evaluation.

As others have stated this means your rating is complete. The next step is for a VSR to complete the notification letter and then another VSR will authorize (approve) the claim to close it. This process is usually completed within a week.

BBE is now WGE....White/Green Envelope.....I went from Preparation for Notification to Completed in 4 business days....Bing..Bang..Boom. My deposited retro check and the WGE showed up the same day. I was awarded 70% PTSD after two years of Testing and C&P's. It's a great feeling when all your effort has been rewarded.Good Luck...!!

Mine went from "Preparation for Decision" right to Completed. Also the "big brown envelope" was more like a "small white envelope."

It means a decision has been reached and usually is just waiting to be approved before they mail your letter out. Keep in mind they have a tendency to change status back to gathering evidence if someone down the line doesn't believe they are ready for a decision. The 1st time my husband filed it pulled back to gathering of evidence and sat that way for a good month or two

If a decision is completed, the most common reason for a claim to go back to gathering of evidence is if additional evidence is received that was not available at the time of the rating decision, but was received prior to the claim being authorized. This is usually the result of the veteran submitting additional evidence or evidence previously requested by the VA being received.

Congratulations on your award Skidridder70. Could you elaborate on how you found out the outcome and how fast you were able to receive the WBE with the good news. I'm in a similar situation. I received a letter from the DAV dated June 17, 2015 notifying me that a decision was made and I was awarded 70% for PTSD and today is July 13, 2015 and still have not received any envelopes from the VA. I called the 800 number and they assured me that I got the 70% but because of the workload it could take 30-90 days to see the back pay. By now I thought I should have received notification from the VA telling me officially how much money and all the details but nothing in the mail. Thank you
